Holiday at ROTORUA and GISBOURNE

On the second week of the holidays. :Me, my Mum, my Dad, my little brother, and my little sister went in a car for a road trip, we went from Auckland to Rotorua. We left our house on Tuesday and it took us about 2-3 hours to get there. On the way we saw heaps of trees and that reminded me about how we all breath fresh air from the trees, as for other countries; it's really hot and you could get really sunburned. In other countries they can hardly breath because of all the pollution in the air. Pollution is when :not much trees are around, there are heaps of people living in that country, or that their are many factories around the city and are making clouds of smoke in the the air. When we got to Rotorua it smelled like rotten eggs and my dad said that was called sulphur. We had already checked in online and all we had to do next was get our card, take in all our luggage and think of what plans we were going to do next. The Hotel we checked 'in was called Rydges. We all decided that we all should go swimming of course because if we would vote in our family about which town is the best to go swimming at????? We would choose Rotorua. We went swimming at about 7-30 and swam for 1-2 hours. I backstroked really well and I also free styled really well, but the swimming style that I'm not quite good at is breaststroke. I haven't practised that style so that not why I'm good at it. I met a friend and he said he likes to breaststroke. So he told me a few tips and I learned quite a lot from him. We then played who can do the best handstand under the water. I did cool tricks from my break dancing career. The next day we went to Gisbourne. This time it took 4-5 hours to get to Gisbourne because I think that we went the long way which was through the Gorge. The Gorge from Rotorua to Gisbourne has many mountains and is very dangerous in winter. When we got there we saw a beach that is known as the best surfing beach in New Zealand. The beach was called Wainui beach. When we got back from Gisbourne we went straight into the pools. Do you want to know what the strange thing is when we got to the pools. We saw my cousins Canaan and Xavier. I was really shocked when I found out that they must of checked in the same hotel as us. We played rugby in the pools and then I played tag with my younger cousin, since he had to play in the shallow pool, but the bad news was that he had no one to play with, so I did. The next day was farewell to the hotel and hello back home. As we were on our way out I was the last one because I stayed for a minute or two to say goodbye to the room. When we arrived home i felt really lucky and that that was a holiday to remember.

The All Blacks vs Australia (1st Half)

On Saturday the 18th of July, in Auckland, New Zealand. The All Blacks challenged Australia in rugby for the Bledislode cup. Australia said this was a special night because they have never beaten The All Blacks at Eden Park for 23 years. The kick off was kicked by Steven Donald and the game took off as Luke Burgess runs straight and hard. The Wallabies do not make much metres, so they decided to kick it out. That forced NZ to get the first lineout, but the Aussie forwards moved up in the lineout, then they were penalised. Just then the All Blacks lose the ball in the ruck and the first try Started of as by Adam Ashley-Cooper broke through the All Blacks defence and offloaded it to Berrick Barnes. That was the first try of the evening. Matt Giteau kicked the conversion and the ball went in to make the scores 7-0 to the Wallabies. Then the All Blacks struggle since they haven't broke Australia's line. Then they offer a penalty to the Australians and Stirling Mortlock chose to kick for the goal. Matt Giteau got the kick with ease. Steven Donald Then kicked the ball and in no longer then 3 minuets, the All Blacks decided to get there head in the game as they were offered a penalty to kick for goal. Unfortunately The wind blows the ball away from the post and there was no change to the scoreboard. Then Donald took another shot at goal, this time he was right in front of the post so he was definite to get this in; he got the kick turning the scoreboard into 10-3 to the Australians. After a while the All Blacks started to rest a bit when suddenly there was a turnover to the Wallabies. Aussie quickly made the most of there time and started to break through the All Blacks defence, But Mils stood firm and Luke Burgess Knocks it on. Just when we thought that the All Blacks was going to get a try. Another penalty was given to the Australians and they chose to kick; the kick was in. Then the All Blacks had another lineout and this time they caught there own lineout and dominated the Wallabies yards from Nonu's powerful runs. Finally the All Blacks get a beautiful try from Richie McCaw as he goes under the Australian defence and reaches out to get the try for the All Blacks. The Australia gets nervous and starts to lose the ball. Then the All Black was awarded a penalty; they chose to kick the ball but when the ball got high in the air, it drifted sidewards and there was no change to the scoreboard. Then Australia was close to the line but the ball flew right past the Wallabies and Richie McCaw caught the ball and ran straight past the Wallabies defence, luckly Jimmy Cowan was supporting McCaw and Richie offloaded it but the rain made the ball slippery in the pass and Cowan was unable to catch it. The Half-Time Siren goes and Australia are still in front 13-10.

Gigantisaurus

At first the paleontologists thought the T-Rex was related with the Gigantisaures. But after studies and many clues being found throughout the year, the paleontologists then realized that they weren't in common. The timeline of these 2 reptiles was far far away.

A Gigantisaures is from Southern America and would probably live in the bushes or forests. Gigantisaures lived in the Cretaceous period of the Mesozioc era (around 100 million years ago).
A Gigantisaures would have eaten other slow dinosaures or carnivores and would have been a Meat-eater.

The tail would be very important part of a Gigantisaures because the techneqe for a Gigantisaures's is way to catch it's prey needs balance. A Gigantisaures 's tail is pointy and is really long.

Skateland

After a long training our coach said "that on Friday we could go to Skateland"
. I was nervous because when I went to Skateland in "Camp Aratika part 1" I just kept on falling over and over and over. Skateland is a inline skating arena and it's skating rink is sort of like a oval shape with music that plays when your skating. Their is also skating lessons and the Skateland itself has skating teams that go in ages. The teams have one some trophies through the years, but most of them arean"t under 7's and under. Once that clock hit 6:00pm Friday. We where on the road to Skateland and I was pretty late, but I had a great time their because I went with some gear. The gear I packed was not much. It was just a Powerade drink. My Mum paid me and my brother (because he just had to come) to skate and my size that I told to the man was "size 7 please", And before you know it, I WAS OFF.Whizzing round and round the skating rink thinking that I could really pull this off, especially that a youth group of another church came. Heaps of people came But the first thing that I noticed was that my brother couldn't skate. He got better although he just skated around the outside of the skating rink, not in. I improved a lot. Just when I was about to drink some of my Powerade BOOM BAM!!!! I heard my name on the loudspeaker saying these words" Erene, Lepa, Owen, Sione, Nathaniel, Mac, Stevie and Jonty this is your song. I was embarrassed that it was in public as well. Guess what the song was???. Kiss me through the phone. I was half happy and half embarrassed because I knew that only the Mt Wellington Under 10's knew who I was.  But the embarrassed part was when my coach kept saying my name, so I ran to skate outside of the skating rink. When that was over it was time to have some fun. After 6 laps around the skating rink the loudspeaker said" all right now it is time for races","I was so scared that it felt like I was in a situation of a dilemma. My heart missed a beat, it was either take the race or face the facts!!!!!. But finally it stopped and I made my decision. I whispered to myself that I would not go into the race because I only learned how to skate on that night.  Suddenly I just saw some of my friends coming to me, I didn't know where to go. They were coming to laugh at me so I started to skate when I realized that their were no where to go. Just then they said to me that I was scared to and I might fall over and everybody might laugh at me. I couldn't believe all that time that I wasted, so I told them why I was here as well. Right after that we sang our chant and we sang it loud and clear so that everybody could here. Lastly, we all went home and on the way home in the car I said in my head that "this would be a night to remember.

Education Review Office

Today I thought it was just a normal day. But just when I was going to get my extension homework book,guess what!!! A man called John came from the Education Review Office came along. I knew that they were going to ask us some questions about our school. The next big thing was that a group of Year 4 people came in to answer some questions from John.  John came in and the first question that he was about to answer was,  "What do you like most about school?". And I said that I like E-learning. The next question  that he asked was, "What was your favourite subject?" And I answered that I like maths. So then on John kept on asking us questions about our school. At the end of the interview John said "Goodbye" and then he left. Mrs Tele'a probably was dying to tell us about the interview, so she did. Finally we all went home.

X-box Party Mansion

X-box party Mansion is a game on Miniclip.Miniclip is a game website that is on the computer. It's super awesome and when we first tried it because there was a advertisement it was out of this world. The aim of the game is to find all the items on the  list as fast as you can. Their was this guy from Brazil and he was on fire. Because the score was 1137489. Even I don't know how to say that number. For  me the easiest room to find all the things in the list is? The Family Room. With a total score of 9:01. But I'm sure that the Brazilian guy should have gotten about 9: 21 seconds. There also is the hints.HINTS- tells you where a object on the list is. You also get a chance to gain more hints so that it can help you in the next room.We usually use the hints when we haven't found the ones which we will never find.When me and my uncle finished we agreed that  we should submit our work.We came 122nd.Pretty good score in the world.
